The Dlamini sisters, Mercy Dlamini Mdhletshe and Griselia Dlamini captured just before the week of the Incwala, in Lusaka,Zambia. These two are Ingoma Dancers under Shanganani (Hlangagani) Ingoma Dance group of Lusaka. Now, these Dlaminis, although they are in Zambia, also fall under the House of Dlamini, which is the  royal house  of the Kingdom of  Eswatini .  Mswati III , as king and  Ngwenyama  of Eswatini, is the current head of the house of Dlamini. They were led into their present base by Zwangendabas, son Mphezeni. Now,it is important to maker make mention of the fact that Swazi kings up to the present day are referred to as  Ingwenyama  and they rule together with the Queen Mother who is called  Indlovukati . The Dlamini dynasty traces itself back to a chief  Dlamini I  (also known as  Matalatala ), who is said to have migrated with the Swazi people from  East Africa  through  Tanzania  and  Mozambique .   Ngwane III , however, is often considered to be the first  King of

Who was M'mbelwa?  Perhaps before expounding on the recognizable names of M'mbelwa's wives and sons, we should initially explain to the readers who this highly distinguished man was.  Now, M'mbelwa was the first born son of King Zwangendaba Jele and Queen Munene of the Nzima clan of present day Eswatini. He was born in present day  Malawi  in 1841. He was not the first born child of King Zwangendaba and Queen Munene as the later initially only bore the King female children such as Lomagazi Jele who married a missionary called Mayayi Nhlane Chiputula.  M'mbelwa's in law, Mayayi Nhlane Chiputula captured with Dr Laws and William Mthusane Koyi in the 1800 in Northern Malawi .  Prince M'mbelwa's was born when his father's Kingdom was experiencing a number of deaths especially among the people that had initially started the trek with the Ngonis inspirational figurehead. This may as well explain why the young brother of Lomagazi was named by such a name th

To the uninitiated, this looks like a simply a name of a settlement without paying much attention to the fact that Kalongola was in fact a person. And this person continues being glorified in the city of Chipata and his tribal area.  Who was Kalongola? Kalongola was a renowned builder who was based in the then Town of Chipata. Some of the urban buildings of the city bear his hands. In fact, the first Methodist Church in Chipata which is near Lunkhwanka tavern was opened by Kalongola. These joined the Zwangendaba crusade alongside other Swati clans such as the Mgomezulu,Dube Tshongwes, Mdletshe, Dlamini, Nzimas and Khosa just to mention a few. Who was Emperor Haile Selassie? It is a public secret that Ethiopia has a long  history , tracing back to the first millennium BC. Indeed two kingdoms were established during antiquity: the Kingdom of  Dʿmt  and  Kingdom of Aksum ; the latter's civilization was considered a great power by the third century AD.  Christianity  reached Aksum in the 4th century and has been the state religion since;  Islam  was introduced in Ethiopia in the seventh century. After the collapse of Aksum in the 10th century, a variety of kingdoms existed in the area that would later be known as Ethiopia. The  Zagwe dynasty  ruled the northern-central part of Ethiopia and Eritrea for over three centuries until being overthrown by  Yekuno Amlak , who- inaugurated the  Ethiopian Empire  and its  Solomonic line dynasty  in 1270; this dynasty claimed descent from  Biblical Solomon  and the  Queen of Sheba  under their son  Menelik I .  Now, according to the vast history of Abyssinia now called Ethiopia,   Empe

AN END OF AN ERA'. THE GIANT FALLS !  One of the villages founded by, Zwangendaba called Emveyewyeni (Emthenguleni), which is located in Eastern Zambia, is in the mourning period. One of it's most celebrated son's Baba uMtwalo Nzima passed on yesterday, in Chipata, the headquarters of Eastern Zambia. Baba Mtwalo Nzima hailed from the village of Lushangeni (Makwatata) which is under Inkosi Madzimawe. His death has silenced not only the Ngoni Nation but also the media fraternity in Eastern Zambia. Baba Nzima was a regular voice for the very first private radio station in the Eastern region of Zambia. Baba Nzima was at the time of his death a marriage counselor for Radio Breeze which was for a long time, the face of private radio stations in Chipata. Particularly for the Ngonis, Baba uMtwalo Nzima's name can never be erased. Just like his father, he too served the Ngoni Nation in the best way he could. For example, in the 1980s,during the tenure of Blackson Lukhelo as
